Byron Shire
Pearl and Dylin are queer non-binary artists working in collaboration on Bundjalung Country. Their painting collaboration, which began in mid 2020, explores the edges of gender and sexuality, the contours of their ever evolving relationship to each other, and the views they imagine for queer futures. Through experimental colour arrangements, their work seeks to capture and connect many disparate moving parts to form one fluid whole.
With Dylin having a background in words as an author and screenwriter, and Pearl having a background in performance and theatre as an actor and poet, their combined painting practice is a synthesis of multiple disciplines.
