Horne Art Studio (HAS), led by Director Ed Horne, is a highly experienced construction, fabrication and installation practice with over 20 years’ experience delivering complex museum, gallery, public art, theatre, television and major event projects throughout Australia and internationally. HAS has proven expertise leading workshop operations, supervising multidisciplinary teams, producing shop drawings and construction documentation, coordinating fabrication and installation programs, and delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.

The studio works extensively with leading cultural institutions, artists, curators, designers and production teams to realise technically complex projects to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Core capabilities include workshop management and supervision, exhibition and museum display construction, fabrication and installation management, and project planning, scheduling and resource allocation.

HAS is highly proficient in SketchUp modelling and shop drawing production, with strong capability in construction documentation and technical detailing, prototype development and material testing. The studio has broad fabrication experience across timber, steel and mixed materials, and a strong track record in team leadership, mentoring and training.

Safety and compliance sit at the core of HAS’s operations, with expertise in WHS compliance and risk management, rigging, dogging and lifting operations, and artwork handling and exhibition installation. The studio is also experienced in contractor and stakeholder coordination, ensuring smooth collaboration across every stage of a project.
