Lauren Hotson is a Sydney born emerging ceramic artist currently residing on Bundjalung land in the Northern Rivers. Lauren developed her skills in clay over many years having completed a seven month unpaid internship at Gaya Ceramic Arts Center in Ubud, Bali in 2017 and participating in various intensive workshops while residing in Sydney, New York and Bali.
Lauren partook in the artist residency program at Shiro Oni in Japan in 2019 where she showcased her work in a group exhibition. She was a Ceramics Finalist in the 2020 Muswellbrook Art Prize and has worked with acclaimed contemporary Australian artist Juz Kitson.
Lauren has a strong connection and relationship with nature and through her art practice explores creative ways in which to raise awareness of the importance of honoring and preserving our fragile natural environment.
