Jason Harding is an academic, graphic designer, and emerging artist.
His background is in elite sports-science, immunology, microtechnology and graphic design. He teaches university courses on tech, travel, tourism, hospitality, sport, social media, website and app development, design and innovation.
Once a contributor to scientific journals his work (both text and imagery) has now become a mix of poetic, arts and design thinking based philosophical inquiry. For jason art is a way to ask questions. A process of turning introspection outwards.
As an academic and lecturer in a university his immediate audiences are students. For them his work is an example of a deep scholarly dive, referencing and respect, and an attempt to bring something unique to the table.
Through art Jason hopes to inspire students (and also others) to consider, create and communicate alternative ideas in their own ways. And also forewarn of the overconfidence that arises from supposedly now having read all the books.
In 2024 he received a teaching award from Griffith University, ’The transformative power of art and design in teaching’. Signalling his belief in the value of art and its capacity to create lasting positive change, and academia’s acknowledgement of it.
In 2025 he held a solo art exhibition titled, ‘Done X Illusion’ at Lennox Arts Collective, NSW. A collection of visual and text-based pieces created whilst teaching. He also designed and published an accompanying book (same title).
Jason is currently applying for arts grants, planning another exhibition and book, and is open to collaborations.
