Cast Net Productions grew out of Danny Loyden and Samantha Lovejoys’ love of telling regional Australian stories. While travelling around Australia in 2012, they cut their teeth on grass roots music video clips and short documentaries inspired by the landscapes and characters they encountered.
Jump cut to 2019 and they are busy producing film and arts projects with a rural NSW backdrop. They have their sights set on having their first short animation film, Cadence screened somewhere in the global market, as well as, at Australian festivals in 2020.
Danny is the big picture, ideas man with skills in directing, social media engagement, camera, editing and animation. Sammy is the project manager, director, grants and script writer; and successfully acquitted their first ‘big’ grant in 2019 for the multi-media project Bike Town which was funded by Heritage Near Me – Department of Environment & Heritage NSW.
Since launching Cast Net Productions in 2013, Danny and Sammy have worked on many community, arts and corporate projects including:
Cadence – short animation, Grafton Cycle Sport – social media promos, Bike Town – multi-media exhibition, community engagement & animation, Adventurethon – social media promos, Wheelmen of the Clarence – short documentary, Ash Grunwald and Honey & Knives – music videos, Grafton Jacaranda Festival – social media promos, Jaca Girls – short documentary.
