Local artist Liv Enqvist, with an arts practice specialising in freehand embroidery, joins the current Northern Rivers Creative group exhibition, < cite >. Themed around emerging technologies, the exhibition is open at Lone Goat Gallery in Byron Bay from January 27 – February 25.
Hand embroidery is a way for Enqvist to keep her hands away from devices, to feel more present and a tool against being distracted. In her piece ‘Protected from Distraction’ exhibiting in the show she explores how to create by layering the hand made and digital. Enqvist believes that if you want to predict the future to look at art and technology.
