Born in Papua New Guinea. Helen draws her inspiration from primitive origins, years of traveling the world and living in Los Angeles, New York, London, Australia, Sweden and Indonesia. Helen lives and breaths design. 30+ years of Art Direction, Graphic Design and Commercial Interior Design make up her creative career.
Helen has been designing commercial spaces for hotels and bars, corporate offices and retail venues for over 15 years, for clients and her own ventures throughout the UK, Australia and USA. Designing from her studios in Kirra, Australia, Helen uses a very unique process to gain insight to her clients needs, called the Creative Direction Document – designing for individual motivation and uses.
Helen designs the interior spaces, specs all materials used through the build process, purchases / commissions all fit out materials and project manages the trades. Her skill-sets are: Interior design, Furniture design, Model making, Architectural builders drawings and Project management.
Some of the images displayed here on NRC are of the recent Bar in Down town Los Angeles and the remodelling of the Iconic Pink Hotel in Coolangatta, where Helen gutted the property and redesigned, completely refurbished, designed and made room fixtures and furniture to adorn the now stunning 18 room boutique hotel.
