Richmond Valley
Yen is a creative, a ceramicist, podcaster and creative mentor. She graduated from a Bachelor of Design (Hons) at UNSW Art and Design in 2018, and returned to the Northern Rivers to set up her studio practice.
Growing up in the Northern Rivers, Yen spent a lot of her childhood at the beaches, chasing waterfalls or going for bush walks, which ignited a love for nature. Fascinated with Australian native plants and deep connection to landscape and place, Yen often explores these themes in her creative projects.
Her specialty lies in ceramics, with a love of Saggar fired wares, and Japanese influenced glazing.
