Born in Southern Africa in 1960, Victoria’s heritage, Scottish-Australian and French-British, result in her fascination with migratory patterns and hybrid identities.
Through her figurative forms, Victoria investigates the human condition, and at times employs the practice of pit and smoke firing techniques, and fibers post-firing. These methods reflect influences of Victoria’s early years and a valued connection and collaboration between artists and materials, suggesting that the artistic exchange between the two offers endless opportunities.
Working from her studio in South Lismore NSW, Victoria explores concepts through developing new works whilst facilitating workshops locally and interstate. She has held solo and group shows with Far to Go being her most recent solo show at the Lismore Regional Gallery in 2018.
