Todd is an Australian Photographer from the North Coast of NSW. Shooting landscapes is a way for Todd to connect to the land and still the mind.
For Todd, the act of observing through the lens always brings a calm state of mind and the photographs he captures tend to reflect those moments. Todd prints at large scale sizes so the viewer can get close to that experience.
Todd usually shoots tight compositions that capture the transitional areas between environments, abstracting the marks and gestures that Mother Nature creates.
“When you look through the lens of the camera, you experience the landscape – it can shift from movement to stillness. In a meditative state, we experience the mind through the lens of a high state of consciousness – that can shift from movement to stillness. Much like the philosophy of the yin and yang in Taoism, it seems that nature expresses itself through these polarities.”
