Ruth Hofer is a visual artist working primarily within the discipline of collage and mixed media. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Art (majoring in Printmaking) from QCA in Brisbane, Australia, she has also studied woodblock printing at undergraduate level in Canada. After a decade long sabbatical from her art career to focus on family, her four children are all now school aged and she is back in the studio close to her home in the eclectic and creative town of Byron Bay. For Ruth, creativity is a catalyst for personal contemplation, inspiring meaningful connections to something greater than the individual self. She sees her work as a way to deepen the audience’s impressions of the world in which they exist, while bolstering them in their search for meaning and purpose.
