Roberts’ strong connections to spirit and country flows through his art, expressing native species and animals. His work has evolved over 30 years of practice and his representation of the totems of Bundjalung country express traditional and contemporary elements. Roberts’ describes his use of traditional and contemporary elements as working with no boundaries, inspired by a combination of mediums including layers of raised wooden 3D cut-outs which create depth and movement throughout his artworks.
