Beki Davies is a contemporary visual artist who resides on the east coast of Australia. She currently holds her Diploma of Visual Art, Advanced Diploma of Visual Art, and graduated from her Bachelor of Art and Design in 2019 and is currently undertaking her Honours year at Southern Cross University.
Beki’s arts practice is situated within the genre of Contemporary Landscape, exploring themes of the Anthropocene and the visual folklore of changing spaces. She is a multi-disciplinary artist who uses the mediums of print, photography, ceramic sculpture and drawing to explore the phenomenology of Place. Imbedding the work with the experience of being in the landscape, whether it be coastal, bush or urban environment, is integral to Her process. Beki’s work is a meditation on the dynamic process of change; it aims to create a visual mythology of a place and a time between existing landscapes and disappearing spaces.
Beki has worked extensively in the Arts industry, with 15 years as a professional tattooist and has curated many group and solo shows as founder and Co-director of Muse Contemporary Gallery, an artist run initiative in Lismore NSW.
