HDM are like caged tigers with broken teeth – too wild, too angry, too loud, too BIG! to be boxed into a recording studio. See ’em live!! See ’em soon!!
– Rob Hirst, Midnight Oil/Backsliders
Human Dinosaur Machine is a blend of 90’s throw-back grunge and American pop punk with an Australian edge that will bury it’s hooks into you upon listening; a vocally raw truth of wonder and pain alongside intricate rhythms and gorgeous melodies that completely envelop you, the way music should.
Originating in Lismore the band reflects on their home town.
Lismore is known by some people as a hole. A hole that floods, a lot. Some people believe once you enter and dig in roots, you will never leave. Some people hear the words ‘violence’ and ‘drug abuse’ and imagine the heart of the Northern Rivers; Lismore. Some people just remember Grinspoon.
There are others though; other humans, and they know beautiful rainforest surroundings, kind and talented people, a thriving contrast of music and art and a home of vibrant festivals and gorgeous sunsets. HDM was born in Lismore around 2016, and Lismore became their new home.
