Ryan Dandelion

My name is Ryan Dandelion. I am a photographic artist working in traditional mediums of film & dry plate photography, silver gelatin darkroom printing, alternative process and digital inkjet printing. My work explores themes of vulnerability, personality, sexuality, and the photographer & subject relationship. I have been practicing photography for over a decade. I am self-taught and have learnt from many peers.

In 2023 I joined a darkroom and began my printing journey creating silver gelatin prints, starting to teach, and experimenting with large format cameras. In 2025 I moved from Sydney to Nimbin in the northern rivers of NSW, Australia where I currently have a home studio and laundry darkroom.

I recently opened up a print store on my website where you can purchase fine art prints. I am available for commissioned portrait sessions at my home studio in Nimbin, and on location within the northern rivers.

Photographs can be supplied as digital files or physical prints. Film and glass plates are black and white – colour film is available with advance notice by request.

We can create portraits, professional headshots, record covers, promotional images, gig posters, editorial, fashion, boudoir, etc. My intention is to use the full extent of my emotional intelligence and mastery over the physics of light to paint a beautiful portrait of you or your creative vision.
