NEWS

Northern Rivers Creative is calling out to artists for inclusion in an upcoming exhibition held at Grafton Regional Gallery.

The exhibition will open for eight weeks from April 30 – July 3 and will feature up to 8 artists from the directory.

Exhibiting artists will receive a participation fee of $500 and a feature in digital and print marketing throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Applicants must have a published Northern Rivers Creative profile adhering to the directory’s eligibility requirements to be considered.

Considering the quick turnaround, we are seeking either finished works or works that will be completed and ready to hang by Wednesday 27th of April.

Artists are invited to contribute works that respond to the topic of GENDER.

This exhibition aims to participate in important and ongoing global conversations through varied gestures, expressions, and understandings of gender.

Using the lens of their own experiences, artists may choose to contribute works that expand upon or challenge existing understandings of gender from social, political or cultural perspectives. Works exploring gender performance, identity or how gender informs the way we experience the world are also encouraged.

We welcome applications from all artists of all disciplines conceptually engaged with these ideas within their work. We encourage creative responses and welcome artists who are exploring experimental practices to apply.

Northern Rivers Creative and Grafton Regional Gallery acknowledge that not all gendered experiences are the same and through collaboration, care, and consultation, will endeavour to create an exhibition that accurately reflects the values and perspectives of the artists involved.

Grafton Regional Gallery is a safe, inclusive, and affirming space.

EOI’s have now closed.
