I have been designing various productions throughout Australia and internationally since my first paid job as art director at aged 21 when, I worked on a music video for the Brisbane New Wave band, ‘The Riptides’. Since then I studied design at NIDA and on graduation, began working in the theatre. I’ve worked at The Sydney Theatre Company, Belvoir St Theatre company, Opera Australia, The Queensland Theatre Company, The State Theatre Company South Australia, The Victorian Arts Centre Melbourne.
In 1991 I also started designing feature films in Queensland with the film ‘Redheads’, ‘To Have and To Hold’ shot in New Guinea and North Queensland, ‘Don’t Tell’, ‘Celeste’ to name a few and in 2018 in the Northern Territory I designed the film ‘Home Ground’ shot in Arnhem Land and Kakadu National Park and which was a highlight of my career. For Netflix I designed the comedy series ‘Lunatics’ and for the ABC ‘Deadlock’ which was filmed locally in Ballina.
I have also designed events and exhibitions ranging from ‘The Icon Parade, The Closing Ceremony for the Sydney Olympic Games 2000’ and the first ‘Handa Opera On Sydney Harbour’ site design and theming for La ‘Traviata’. I designed the exhibition space for ‘The Story Of Sydney’ in the Rocks and most recently ‘1001 Remarkable Objects’ exhibition for the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.
I’ve been a resident in the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast since 2001.
