Dr Jacqueline Scotcher is a visual artist particularly interested in place, movement and abstract painting. For the past decade she has been exhibiting consistently in both solo and group shows. Jacqueline completed her PhD in practice-led research in 2018 focussed on mindful walking and painting in the Australian tropics as a mode of place-making. She has worked as an arts educator; as a lecturer in creative arts, TAFE short course instructor and independent workshop facilitator. Her practice is featured in the Qld senior art syllabus and she has visited over sixty high schools to conduct inquiry-driven workshops. This involvement has led to a passion in supporting young students to develop a creative practice and meaningful relationship with the arts.
Returning to her home region in 2021, Jacqueline currently works from her studio in Mcleans Ridges, Northern NSW. Current projects involve painting, animation and drawing investigating attention to daily movement. Also works with private students in a tuition capacity and offers workshops.
