Melitta Firth is a freelance arts producer, writer and project manager specialising in creative project development and delivery, arts writing, policy and strategy development.
Melitta also works as part of a team in various arts organisations across the region. Current roles include managing the Arts and Education Fund at Linnaeus Estate and creative producer with Northern Rivers Community Gallery. Melitta is an interdisciplinary creative professional with professional experience across diverse creative industries including graphic design, theatre, visual arts and regional development. Her background in the arts includes previous roles as Creative Producer for NORPA (2012 – 2016); project producer for Northern Rivers Screenworks(2015- 2017), CEO and Visual Arts Network Coordinator at Arts Northern Rivers, Exhibitions Coordinator at Lismore Regional Gallery, Assistant Gallery Manager at the Tim Olsen Gallery (Sydney) and a curatorial internship at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York)
Freelance projects have included a statewide review of Regional Arts Boards in 2015 for Arts NSW(Create NSW), project design and delivery for Future Dreamers, a statewide tour of Visual Arts Speed Dating for NSW Industry and Investment, Tweed Shire Council Youth Strategy and public art projects, user experience research for Incling; and development and promotion of countless exhibitions.
She has worked closely with the local Indigenous community as editor and project Coordinator on ‘A Special Kind of Vision: Aboriginal Art from the Northern Rivers’ publication and development of The Deadly Arts Plan for Arts Northern Rivers.
