Christine Read is an artist living and working in Lennox Head, drawing, painting and exploring her art practice since adolescence.
I love colour and I love the sense of being ‘present’ in the work. I enjoy most subject matter, but most frequently paint landscapes, seascapes and still life. The beautiful scenery and plant life as well as the enormous skies that are present in the Northern Rivers are a potent inspiration for my work.
Christine won the Tyalgum Festival Art Prize in 2012 and has been a finalist and People’s Choice winner in a number of competitions. Her work is presented continuously at the Lennox Arts Collective in Lennox Head and has been shown at Breathing Colours Gallery, Balmain, Agora Gallery, New York and Art Piece Gallery, Mullumbimby.
Christine is a facilitator, art tour guide and collected artist and is a member of the Lennox Arts Collective.
